Waiting... waiting...

Grants were due in early June... HHSC has only told us about TWO... we got 'em. The state office of rural health told us that we did not get the CIP grant (i expected as much). Still waiting to hear about innovation, 1pt2, and 6. Sigh... I think the stress of waiting to hear back has made me develop a cold sore. 

I tried the caffeinated chocolate... this is my impression of the owl.

I finished Desperation, so next book has to be the regulators. I haven't started it yet, cuz I'm waiting for a dedicated day for reading. Hehe

After I picked up the book, this is the truck I followed home. Only a little creepy, right??

Hubby and I decided to have a charcuterie night on thurs. K sent me home with the sourdough, then we went to Kroger for cheese and such. The cold cuts came from costco, and the wine from Messina hof. It was a good night. 

Friday A and I had what may be our most goofy misunderstanding ever. We planned to meet up at 4 for margaritas. So I left work at 230 to head out to Eastland to meet her at LA hacienda. I called her when I got there, cuz I missed her text at 312 saying she was heading out. I asked her where she was and she said... halfway to weatherford. I had assumed we were meeting in Eastland, she assumed we were meeting in weatherford. We had agreed on the time, but not the location. So, I followed her to weatherford and we had margs at Rio mambo like in the old days. Our server was super cool and we ended up hanging out for about 4 hours. It was so nice to catch up.

Saturday I was being stared at... I was slightly uncomfortable... so I went to the farmers market. 

My don't eat beads lady had posted these earrings online. I had to have them! And now, they are mine. 😁

Took myself out to the Roasted beenery after the market. Beefast sandwich and a latte. Did some journaling, too. Hubby got off work early, so we went to ephemera to make terrariums.

Sunday is here, and so soon I shall head to Mass. Hubby is at work, but it's the final 2 days of his 2 week stretch with no days off. Being bday week, fun is planned for almost every day (except Monday, that one is business as usual). After Mass I'm going to meet A at cowtown brewery for lunch and a book fair! We made sure to confirm time AND location for today. Lol.

Sunday was fun. Poor hubbs was a little hungover, but we still made it to Mass and NFM. We had lunch at Velvet Taco. So good!! Then home to be yelled at by a void cat. He was happy we were home.

Monday we took off cuz hubbs is going to have a marathon work couple of weeks. However, he got called for jury duty. So he went to jury duty, while i enjoyed being lazy at home. Eventually I went to the store once the first thunderstorms left. Made sheet pan Pierogies with roasted brussles sprouts, carrots, and Sausages. SO good. 

Tuesday was back to work as usual. Bleh. Did my after work workout in the resistance band leggings. Funny thing, I took a "before" pic of my legs and damned if I didn't almost send one to hubby. They are my least favorite feature, by FAR, but I need to know if the leggings actually help with tone (don't care so much about cellulite, but we'll see with that, too).

Longer on the 4.5 incline, same speed.

Wednesday had an afternoon headache that turned into an evening migraine, so I didn't go to the gym. The state also didn't announce if we got any grants. Jerks.

Thursday hubbs worked late and I was in a mood. So after he got done with work he picked me up and we went to chilis for apps and drinks. Their $6 margs are GOOD. While we were there, a lightning bolt hit across the interstate from us. LOUD boom. A worker actually said "was that REAL?!" It was funny. By the time we left the rain was over. We went to cracker barrel to see about the Halloween situation. 

I got me a batty bat! So soft, so sweet. 

Friday was work and then date night at the ball park!

Nice day. We were in the club upstairs, which had AIR CONDITIONING!!

Saturday I did laundry, put dishes away, went grocery shopping, put up some window cling, then watched bad shark movies with Ace the rest of the day.

Hoping this will help keep down the electric bill. And keep down the smell from the kitty box under the windows.

Dinner. Couldn't tell much difference between pickle beer and normal bock or kolsch. Was good tho. And hubbs has food for tomorrow. 

So that was the week. Thankfully we didn't have much in the way of flooding here. Bestie got thru ok, too. All is good. I saw where lake Travis is full for the first time since 2019. Now we are gonna be SUPER humid and HOT for a while. So basically it's time to bake. Yaaay. Lol... one more normal work week and then... VACATION. We are extremely stoked for some down time. I hope all of you are doing well and having some fun. Hugs and love from a soggy but surviving Texas.

Wednesday I forgot the socks in my gym bag, so I did a home workout. Couple sets of dead bugs and infinity hoop. Ace was curious about why I was laying on the floor. My workout buddy.

Thursdays thought from the interwebs. BMI needs to be retired as an individual measure of obesity. (I blame lazy clinicians who don't want to measure patients for hip-to-waist ratios... scales and height are SO much easier.)

So. Much. Sweat. It's hot, it's humid, and yet I still work out. Sigh. Trying to live as just moderately broken SUCKS. 

Also, confirmed that the tracker SUCKS at tracking steps... it said 2203... sigh.

My prize for beating him TWICE, the succulent he won from a claw machine, and my pineapple blueberry margarita. 

Best game ever. Try to stop the "gas pump" at the exact amount. First time hubbs stopped at $9.92 ($10.00 was the target) and I stopped at $11.08 ($11.00 target). So between us, we got it! Lmao. The on to the night market in crowley.

So. Hot. But cute area, LOTS of food, fun booths, all in all a good time.
