So last night we did a very Korean thing - J, M, D, A, and I all sat outside a 7-11 and drank Soju and beer. LOL - this was after we went to the BBQ place, and this time M was the grillmeister! I'm telling you, that place is SO GOOD and I want to believe that the food isn't even THAT bad for me ;) Hehehe. I officially miss having a coffee pot, but I have to show you how I've been having my coffee (when I'm not in a coffee shop). Here's the first way - it's like a tea bag, but it's coffee.
That's what I had been getting/using. And yes, that's a sort of coaster - my Gma made that for me, and I use it every day! Anyway, here's the new kind of coffee that I've been using...
I actually like this one better because the coffee comes out a bit stronger. It does take more work because I have to pour the water pretty slowly to make sure it doesn't overflow the filter and get coffee grounds in the cup! I'm also still going out for coffee pretty regularly.
We finally went to the chicken place that my friend back home recommended. He said it was the best fried chicken he'd ever had. The place is called Kyochon and the food was AMAZING! I didn't even mind that mine came on a bed of onions (yes, seester, I ate them ALL and enjoyed them... perhaps my tastes are changing).
They also gave me a container of soy sauce to pour over them. Korea is a sharing society, but M, J and I are not totally used to that yet, so we all ordered our own and when they came, we were a bit overwhelmed. We did share, we just hadn't really planned on it, you know?
M's basket of chicken
About half of J's basket, she also got a salad with hers, but I figure a salad is a salad, so I didn't take a pic of it. Sue me if you'd like, but I'd call you silly. We also got chips and salsa there...
The salsa was the consistency of ketchup, a little sweet, but with a bit of a kick to it. I have no idea what the white cubed stuff is - it was kind of like the pickled radishes that we'd had before. I tried them and found them to be good, so woot for that, right?
One day last week I was really wanting to go to Cocky Pub for some mac and cheese. J had gotten it before and it just looked SO GOOD! I had wanted to order that on a previous Friday but I couldn't because it's Lent and I still haven't given anything up (officially) so I feel like cheating on Fridays is no bueno. So that day I got fish and chips... the chips were amazing, the fish was mostly breading with a hint of fish in it. Made me miss the fish and chips we got in the UK... M (who is from the UK) and I had a nice chat about how amazing the fish and chips are there. I miss having the vinegar and salt for the chips (fries) too!! But I digress, here's the mac and cheese that I was so craving.
The funny thing was, we all got the mac and cheese with the exception of M, who went for a burger. Just like a dude ;)
So the best thing happened yesterday - I got my ARC!!! That's Alien Registration Card for those who are confused. It's official, I'm an ALIEN!!!! Now I just need a robot slave and I can RULE ALL HUMANS!!! So in the coming days, I'll be getting a bank card, sim card, wifi, etc. I can also stop carrying my passport with me everywhere (call my paranoid if you want, but better to have and not need than need and not have). It was another case of 'bring your passport and give it to us.' So disconcerting!
