Update

So I've started going to the gym again. I've been going 2-3 times a week just doing cardio until my friend Marc becomes my trainer in March. I've been alternating between the treadmill and the rowing machine. Treadmill because I spend way too much time on my butt, and rowing because it's a full body workout. I'm going to do a full "5 year anniversary of IF" post in March, but wanted to give you a preview.

See, when I first did the rowing machine I figured that was my baseline. Here's the pic of that first one....

I've decided my goal is to see how far I can go in just 30 min. I decided my first goal is 6000m in 30 mins.  Here's my progress today, after 3 weeks: 

I already feel better than before. I love having a goal to work toward. Before you ask, my treadmill goal is 2 miles in 30 mins doing program #2 (alternates speed and incline). The treadmill doesn't lend itself to such good progress pix, tho.

In other news, I'm seeing someone exclusively. Not really ready to say more than that, but I'm cautiously excited. Been burned a LOT, you know... sigh. He asked about a bunch of my favorite things and then brought me this on our first date.

The flowers have lasted almost a week now!

So, that pretty much brings you up to speed. I'm going to try giving up my road rage for Lent. Based on today, it's gonna be a long Lent. LOL. I also found a prayer on FB that I'll be praying every day.

I like the idea of praying for daily neglects... I know there are plenty.  I'm also doing a biblical walk thru Christ's passion, which will likely be my Friday studies since I have Fridays off. 😁

I love my job

 OK, I know that I brag on GRMC a lot, but really, it's a great place to work!  I got up on Monday AM like usual because I hadn't checked the weather or news all weekend, so I had no idea I was supposed to be freaked out about going to work.  I get to work and check my phone... my boss had texted me at 6:47 to say that I could stay home if I needed to.  I'm not the only one, either - the other person who my boss is over also was at work and stopped by, laughing, since we both missed the memo.  I ran into my old boss and said hello and she said that I should probably head home a little early so that I didn't get stuck in Glen Rose.  The funny thing is, she followed that up with "but you could totally stay at my place. I'm sure the dogs would be happy to see you!"  I told her I'd love to come play with the puppers, but home sounded much better.  Then the CEO stopped by to check with her on staffing for the week and mentioned "it won't take much for us to be iced in, so you might want to be sure to get home."  So, I left work at 11:15, was home by 12 and clocked in to work from home.  The weather is supposed to be bad most of this week, and instead of having to use my PTO to cover me, I can work from home.  It's SO nice to have this option.  I'm listening to the freezing rain/sleet outside, the occasional peal of thunder, and I'm snug and safe.  Shout out all those who have to be on TX roads in this mess... be careful and take your time.  Also, if your tires suck, just stay home.  

And yes, my WY peeps can laugh but really... we're not talking snow... we're talking ice.  There's no driving on ice, there's just sliding and hoping for the best.  TX DOT has treated the roads as best they can, but the problem is they put stuff down, then the rain washes it off and freezes on the parts where the treatment has washed away.  I remember the only day we had to shut down FUS in OH was the day that it was a "wintery mix" and we couldn't keep up with the ice because all the salt and calcium in the world doesn't make a lick of difference when it's being washed off by the rain!  That was fun... so you see, I've spent plenty of my life dealing with snow and ice... I feel like I deserve to take a Texas approach to it.  Batten down the hatches, be happy my fridge is stocked, and become a caterpillar in a cocoon of warmth.  I did have to turn my heater up from 61 to 65.  I'm cheap but not THAT cheap.  

So, here's my biggest dilemma.  I got my lease renewal notice from my apartment complex.  They just want to up my rent by $40 to renew for a year.  I can 100% handle that, though it does mean that nothing will be fixed, and I'll have to deal with another year stupidity.  However, it's known stupidity, so that's kind of nice.  I mean, I know now that they don't tell me if I have a package in the office, so if anyone ever sends me anything, let me know to expect it.  Really, using the Amazon drop boxes or picking it up at the UPS store would be better, but I digress.  I wouldn't have to pack all my stuff, hire movers, get a new electricity plan, move my internet plan, apply to a new place and pay all those fees, learn where stuff is in Cleburne, etc.  There's a lot to be said for lazily staying where I am.  However, if I did move it would cut down my commute by about 20 mins, and also cut off the use of the toll road, so I'd save about $20 a week on that.  The thing is, any time I wanted to see my friends it would be more of an hour drive as opposed to a 30 min drive (that's right, I have FRIENDS in DFW now) and same thing with dating.  So, do I trade a long drive 4x a week for long drives on the weekends when something is happening?  Truth be told, the gas money will likely be the same.  I'm told there isn't much happening in Cleburne for the single lady, so if I move will I have the same problem there that I did when I lived in Glen Rose before?  Also, the new apartment complex is SURE to come with its own set of problems, so do I trade the devil I know for the devil I don't know?  I know my costs of living here, so I can budget properly... is it really worth the move?  I think I'm leaning more towards staying just because I'm really, really tired of moving.  I can handle one more year here... even with the theft of my catalytic converter and ridiculous "Family" emails from the leasing office.  

So, you know... any advice would be appreciated.  I'm probably going to stay tho... I have a case of the "I don't wanna's."
