It's the "Ber" months!

Happy spooktember!! Hehe. It was an "off" kind of week, but I had determined that I'd go to the gym, so I did and just did cardio. I've found if I plod along at a speed of 3 and mess with the incline (between 3 and 6) it makes for a decent workout. However, Wednesday was a bit of a nasty one, as I think the A/C in the gym was broken.
This is what the thermostat said.
This is what I said. I was SOAKED after 45 mins, 2.15 miles. Funny thing, at certain theaters they are doing showings of Stephen King's new movie "the long walk" and the crowd are all on treadmills. They have to maintain a speed at or above a 3. If they stop or go below a 3, they are escorted out. I think I could do it. 😁 I put in a work order and on thurs I got an email about the a/c outage in the gym. I decided if it wasn't fixed by the time I got off work, I'd just do something else. Thurs was our last real hot day - 102 - so just, no.

With the new schedule, hubbs and I don't have Fridays together anymore, so we planned a Friday date night. We agreed on dinner but (as you do) got stuck on where. Well, we have devised a great way to choose these things:
Cuz it's all about equality. 😁 Friday came, we rolled a 6 sided die and BOOM! Black bear diner it is! Lol... he had baby bear wrong. We got the chicken ceaser melt and a Ruben and shared them. The Ruben won, but we both would have liked more thousand island and saurkraut. Then we wandered around cracker barrel to see what Halloween stuff they had.

So fun!
YAAAAAAS
Too bad we already have salt and pepper shakers. Hubbs got an animated broom for fun with Ace. Hehe.

Then we went home via HEB. We got some Mango lime juice and when we got home I mixed one of our leftover margaritas from my bday weekend with the juice and *chefs kiss* perfection. I will admit to being TIRED at cracker barrel, but my first Friday of having to work went just fine. It was nice to come home to my hubby. Weird. But nice.

Saturday we decided to stay in and enjoy each other's company, as on Friday I'm headed to K's for a week and so we won't really get to see each other again for about 20 days (between me being gone and him having to work thru his weekend off before I come home). We ordered in and got torchys tacos (their taco of the month, the tailgater, is SO good). We ended up catching up on Dan da Dan (an anime) and then just kinda throwing on whatever looked good. I took over remote duties when he napped. Hehe. Ace seemed to enjoy the lazy family day as well.

Snuggly kitty.

Sunday has been typical so far with me doing laundry, hubbs starting his day late before going to work, and Ace keeping an eye on hubby. I'm planning to sign up for my yoga membership today, and planning on 4 classes this week, then I'll do what I can out at the ranch next week, then back to gym/yoga. I've got 8lbs left to lose this year to hit my first big goal. Then 20-30 next year, and 20 the year after that, which will put me where I'd like to be. Then maintaince, and focus on not losing muscle/bone mass as I get older. Sigh. A lot of life seems to be planning for old age. Fitness, retirement, keeping the mind sharp, all important and yet a part of me whispers all may be futile. But, I'd rather be healthy and old and happy with younger me than planning on dying younger, not dying, and being unhealthy and old and angry at younger me. Lol. Does that make sense? Probably not, but having the gym after work is better than just laying on the couch every day after work. Especially now that work ends so much earlier for me! It's kinda strange. Good, but strange.

Anyway, I hope all is well for all of you. Happy Autumn (basically), and all my love from TX. We had a mild summer, it already feels fall-ish, so I'm interested in how the winter months end up. 😊 hugs and love!
