Today S and I went to the hospital for our Covid tests. We got lucky - there was a Korean guy there helping out another American. I was able to scan the QR code and get to the website where I could register for my test - the Korean guy helped me by telling me what I needed to put and where. He also was able to put in my address (in Korean) which I would NOT have been able to do. Once we got me registered, he helped with S as well. We got there SUPER early, and were done by about 10-ish. It was insane, but not as bad as when J and I went. Thank God for the Korean man... he was a GEM! Anyway, we got our brains scraped and then had to go to the bank so that S could pay a bill. We then went to our respective abodes. I wanted to get a strawberry yummy from Paris Baguette (see below) but they hadn't put those out yet.
So now it's a waiting game. Tomorrow we'll go back to the hospital so that we can get the lab results showing the negative Covid tests, then he'll get on the airport bus and I'll go to SKT to get my phone turned off, then the bank to close out the account and send all my money home, have lunch with K, then I'll hang out until Thursday when I can get my bum to the airport. It's been a wild ride, and I'm happy to be coming home.I already miss some of the kids - but at least one stress dream was kid-related, so there is that. I'm happy that I won't be "Teacher" anymore, and I'm pretty psyched to work on getting hired with the state dept. My tentative plan is to spend the summer back home, see where the state dept process takes me, and go from there. I have really missed my family, so getting to spend some quality time will be nice. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm pretty stoked at being able to come home. Korea has been an amazing, stressful, wonderful, horrible experience - and a whole lot of other adjectives. I can say that I'm happy at how I've healed and grown here, and I will hold on to all the best memories. I won't say it's been the best experience of my life, but it's been incredibly rewarding. I will miss Korea.
See you soon, meine liebchens!!! :*
