Soul Tired

I have come to the conclusion that part of my tired comes from people asking me to do things that they could do for themselves. My sis asking me to look up if a pharmacy tech needs a degree or a certification. People at work asking if I can find this policy or that document, or needing yet ANOTHER tutorial on one of the programs I'm (kinda) over. My lovely hubby asking where this or that is, what his code is for the gate, or similar. I know this is a part of my latent people pleasing programming, because I generally take on the task of finding the info, remembering the thing, or whatever. I'm coming to realize that I'm running out of bandwidth. This last bunch of hosting nearly did me in! Trying to find things that everyone would enjoy, keeping the downtime to a minimum, trying to take into account preferences, budgets, etc. It's a LOT. Hubby and I have discussed and we have agreed that we will not plan more than 2 weekends of things in a row. We need that break weekend of nothing to rest, recuperate, and reconnect. Otherwise we both become exhausted, snappy, and prone to misunderstandings.

Please don't get me wrong. We love having people around, seeing friends and family, and playing host! Just... not back to back to back, ya know? What's funny is, after the first weekend in Nov, I'm booked until the end of the year, but he has free weekends. Hehe. Oops... i guess things just happen sometimes.

It was lovely to see people, though. And our next gathering won't be at our home, so some of the pressure will be off.
3 words. Balcony. Reading. Chair. Halloween reading (the king in yellow) is the last book I haven't read on my book wallet. 😁

What a week. There was a funny moment when D&C were here. Hubbs and dad were talking about their toolboxes and how they knew where everything was and how annoying it was when people didn't put their tools back EXACTLY where they got them from. I looked at hubbs and said we would revisit that later. During a natural lull in convo he said he knew what I'd say when revisiting. I looked at him and said "can you think of the apartment as your toolbox?!" He said "No, cuz I don't have to worry about service times!" I had to shake my head as Dad busted out laughing. Men.

Hubbs took the day off on thurs, and he cleaned! Apt looked great when I got home. Then we watched bad movies. Halloween 3: season of the witches, and cursed. He laughed a LOT during cursed. As did I, let's be honest. We aren't talking high cinema here. He also told me that he dusted and planned to clean the dustboards on fri. He said it's because I mentioned doing a deep clean on Sunday, so the more he does the less I have to do. I asked if he was trying to 'win' at cleaning and got a 'KINDA, YEAH!' Goober butt. Secretly I'm seeing if he does anything that I'm actually planning to do (dusting and baseboard were NOT on the list).

Saturday became more movie watching, snacks, and drinks.
Yummies.
Cozy kitty
Dinner 😁 ceaser salad, pizza, stuffed mushrooms, and Texas toast (cuz we didn't have breadsticks).

Our goblin day was lovely, and exactly what we needed. Now hubby has gone to work, and I just got back from Mass, and so it's time to prepare for the week. Much love to all, I hope you enjoyed your Halloween as much as we did. Today we honor the saints, and tomorrow we honor all souls. Hugs and love, my friends, hugs and love.
