So I sometimes wonder if I'm a good teacher. Then Halloween happens and I know that if I'm a good teacher or not really doesn't matter, as long as the kids are having a good time. I got to be a witch for 2 days, have fun with some of the kids, show some Garfield's Halloween Special, and just in general embrace my inner spooky lady.
I (unofficially) declared the week a Rob Zombie week. When it comes to Halloween-themed heavy metal, he's the top. Halloween viewing included the aforementioned Garfield's Halloween Special, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Halloween (the newest one, JLC is a badass), The Crow, and Sleepy Hollow. Here's some pix from the week:
My door at work, courtesy of Ana sending me fun stuffs from home.
Day 1 - the black skirt, top, belt combo will probably become one of my favorite outfits - I looked GOOD!
Day 2 - dress from Holy Clothing (great celtic/boho/renaissance outfits, wonderful material, dangerous for the checkbook).
The leggings, again courtesy of Ana.
Day 3 outfit - the skirt is wool, which is nice cuz the weather has most certainly turned.
The leggings, courtesy of Ana's dog, Cake. They are little dogs all dressed up as ghosts, vampires, pumpkins, mummys... you get it. SO CUTE!!!
Halloween outfit. I got the temp tats from ArtBox, which was fun. IT was really funny because a couple of the kids asked "Teacher, tattoos?" and I could laugh and say they were fake. Tho I'm pretty sure they know the ones on my back are real.
And now I'm dealing with the downer that is the post-October blahs. It's Nov... we have a pseudo-Thanksgiving planned, but I won't be able to spend it with Gma and Gpa. Then it's Dec and Christmas... we only get Christmas day off, btw. Then New Year's, then Feb, then I've been in Korea for a year. How the time flies. There's some shuffling around going on at work - people going and people coming to replace those going. The weather is officially getting colder, the year is coming to a close. Feels like a good time to take a weekend and do some soul-searching. A bit of introspection to see where I was and how far I've come. A full BH weekend can't happen for a while (Nov 26-27ish), but I'm already feeling pensive. That's probably a part of the post-Oct blahs, if I'm being totally honest.
Today I had nowhere to be this AM, so I stayed in bed until 1pm. It was awesome. I'll probably text people later, but I think limiting face-to-face interactions would be healthy for me today. :) Also the air quality is kinda bad today, so I'm justified in staying home and reading my book. I downloaded Stephen King's The Stand yesterday so that I can be well versed when the new miniseries comes out. Hehehe... cuz these things are important to me. I'm also waiting for my jeans to clear customs, so crossing my fingers that Korea doesn't mind that I wanted boot cut jeans.
Anyway, that was my week of fun outfits and movies and cooking yummy dinners. I'm planning on making pasta later, and the hike is tomorrow, so stay tuned for some BEAUTIFUL pix of trees changing colors. :)
