Via Ferra and Seroaksan weekend

So as I mentioned, Saturday was an early day for me.  I had to be in Seoul by 8 to catch the bus, so I left Dongtan at 7.  I could have caught the bus at another stop, but I figured it would be easier for me (read less transfers) to just go into Seoul on Saturday.  We drove until we got to Via Ferra where we'd be going rock climbing.

The bus was super fancy!!
The view on the way there - so pretty.
Bibibap - this was our lunch before we went rock climbing.  Basically you put in the rice, and however much of the spicy sauce you want, mix the hell outta it and enjoy.  Doesn't look like much, but tastes good.
All my gear - harness, 3 carabiners, helmet, mask, water bottle and holder, which I got in Taiwan and which works as a phone holder as well.  I did need to get my hoodie, it was a little chilly on the mountain.
The 'practice' track.  Safety was moving the carabiners from wire to wire, and holding on to the railing.  Our feet also had railings to stand on, so it was kinda like climbing up the rock using a ladder.
Our start was under the waterfall.
Me at the start of the trail.  You can see the beginning safety wire behind my head.
My friend C from South Africa.  We didn't end up being together on the trail, but I had to get a good pic before we headed up.
A view of the track.  I was behind a guy from Scotland, and we became friends.
Look, Ma!  I'm up a rock!!
It was pretty cool - this is a shot from the drone one of the guys had... I'm 3rd frm the bottom... in leggings... and a harness... I feel sorry for the guys behind me... lotta butt there.
There's the waterfall we were climbing up.
C again at the last little bit of the journey.  I forgot to mention that J gave me some gloves before we headed up.  They were really nice and kept my hands toasty warm!
Me at the top, ringing the bell.  It was a good time and totally worth it.
Good times.
Then we went to the hotel we were staying out and decided to go for a walk before dinner.  I got lots of good pix of trees and got to know my fellow travelers a bit better.

Dinner was Korean BBQ, most of the dishes were standard but I did try a crab that was in a spicy sauce.  I wasn't told until after I tried it that it was raw crab.  It tasted ok, and I didn't get sick, so that was good.  This was also the start of the party as you can see the beer and soju on the table.
The continuation of the party - marshmallows and beers from the GS-25 (a convenience store) along with other assorted treats.
You can't see the fire, but it's there.  The kids are the company owner's, and they were super cute.
Had to get a pic of the full moon.
Went back to the lunch place for breakfast and had to get a pic of the Alaskan Pollack that this place is famous for.  Apparently 80% of this fish that is dried in Korea comes from here.  It was ok for lunch, but I didn't eat it for bfast.
Bfast at the place - stew and sides.  I told the leaders of the trip that I don't really eat b-fast, so I just had my coffee and was happy.
The entrance to Seroaksan National park.
So pretty.

Me, S, and C - we were roomies.  C bought me the coffee cuz I left everything but my water bottle on the bus.  LOL - oops.

Me being weird on a bridge.  I was trying to take a cute selfie, then gave up and went for weird.
Cute happened later.  LOL.

This is probably my favorite shot of the day... or one of them at least.
Water was so clear!

Here is where we took the cable car to the top.
You can just see Seocho on the coast.
View from the top.
Lotta people up there.
Standard Korean picture.
I like this - the tree that survives at the top.
C took this pic of me.  I'm kinda standing weird, but it was a fun day.

After this we headed back to Seoul and it was a 4-5 hour bus ride because of the traffic.  I read a lot and when we stopped at the rest stop I got a snack of Pringles, dried sweet potato sticks, and 'garlic snack' which was pretty much bite sized garlic toast.  When I got to Seoul I had dinner- a bfast sammich from Dunkin Donuts.  It was good.  Monday was back to the grind and back to the fast - so you know, standard Monday.  It also started our last book of a-track, so I officially have 4 books (essentially 4 months) left.  Each book has 8 lessons, we cover 2 a week, this is my countdown.  LOL - not that I'm ready to come home yet or anything.  I've got my 'I'm home' trip all planned out, and I hope the weather will cooperate.

So that's all here.  I made a new friend this weekend, work continues as usual, we are having a delayed Halloween party for the MWF kids, since it was cancelled last week, and time marches on.
