Weekend of fun

So Saturday I had plans to go for Mexican food with J from the hiking weekend.  We were planning on meeting up at 3:00 in Gangnam... then it was 4 near City Hall.  That worked out, but the place we were hoping to go to was either closed or didn't exist.  He wanted to find some decent scotch (being Scottish, it's a thing, right?!) so we also went looking for that.  On the way to our 2nd Mexican place he told me about a place called the Drunken Vegan that he wanted to try out (he's vegan, FYI).  I thought that sounded good, so we went.  They had about 4 things on their menu, it was a really small place, but cute.  So he got the vegan lasagne and I got the fried cauliflower.  It wasn't quite as good as the buffalo cauliflower, but it was still good.  Still don't know what they coated it in.
After dinner we decided that we wanted to get some more drinks, so he took me to this place called Suzy Q in Hongdae.  The back wall was full of vinyl, and they took requests.  So we requested music, enjoyed some beers, and also enjoyed being the only 2 patrons in the place for a few hours.  We left when it started getting busy.
Took a selfie...
Then the lady behind the bar noticed that I took a selfie, so she wanted to take one for me.
Scary smile nonwithstanding, it was super cute of her.  I'm calling this lady my Korean mom - not only did she bring us popcorn, chips, crackers, and peanuts to snack on, she brought over orange slices!  Who does that in a bar?!?  It was awesome.

So then J tells me about this place that sells craft beer and pizza and they put the words together to call it...
Crapizz.  That's right - Crapizz is a place for beers and pizza.  I like this pic cuz of the reflection of J in the window.  He he.  We stopped in here for a beer as as well.  The conversation was intelligent, the drinks were tasty and all in all it was a nice evening.

So Sunday J (from work) and I went to Mass, then to Vatos in Itaewon for lunch.  We walk in and see this.
It's perfect!  Christmas and Halloween together!  I don't even know if they know about the Hogfather!  HEhehe.  We had some drinks and I eventually got my burrito (I think they gave it to another table).  It was a good carnitas burrito.  Then when we were walking back to the metro I saw a Metallica shirt and stopped to look - "Metallica, noun, I'm not going to waste my muffins on you.  I'm going to keep them for myself."  I DIED laughing.  Any metal head will tell you that it's "waste my hate" and the fact that they either changed it or mistranslated it to "muffins" will just make me laugh for a long time.

So it was a good weekend of good company.  The week shouldn't be anything spectacular - then I'm going on another hike this weekend - bamboo forest this time.  Just enjoying my time, waiting until I come home.  Much love all, MUAH! :*
