Then it was off to Moms and Longmire days, with a brief hello/goodbye at Bar 10. It's always good to see my crazy friends!
The pic in the background is a baby Josh Allen when he played for UW before he went to the Buffalo Bill's.
Mom and i drove to Casper the day before Longmire days was to start, so we wouldn't have as long to go on day 1. Couple things. 1) if you are going to be in a convertible, you NEED a hat for your hair and 2) it's WAY easier to get into a thunderbird when the top is DOWN if you are of the tall-ish persuasion. Oh also, if you get a hat knowing it's something that your older sis would wear, don't be surprised if said sister asks for the hat for her bday. I mean, she's not getting MINE but someone in Rtown could get her one from WalMart.
Craig Johnson, the author of the books. Since SAG was on strike, the actors had to get special waviers to attend. This event is 100% put on my the Longmire foundation, the actors are volunteering their time, and Robert Taylot was on the phone for about 24 hrs to get the waiver so the event could take place. They couldn't bring photos to sell for autographs, he couldn't wear his Walt Longmire costume, and they couldn't talk about the show... at an event... for the show... which made some of the talks very interesting. But a good time was had by all of our group, at least!

Buffalo is in a BEAUTIFUL area of WY. I didn't have ANY cell reception there, and no 4 or 5G either. So it was like being in the 90s for me! Of course, the brewery we liked had wifi, so I was able to keep in touch with my fella back in TX. I missed him. I drove all 17ish hours back to TX on Monday so I could sleep in my own bed and was able to see him on Tue. Now for the food/drinks:
It was an absolutely wonderful trip. I got to spend some quality time with family, we laughed SO much at the bar and at Longmire days that I think my abs got a good workout. Hehe. I did talk about my fella an awful lot... I must have missed him some. ๐ There were so many good times, I can't recount them all. I can say a few things: the Japanese make a good whiskey, we got the stink eye a couple times at the Occidental Saloon for laughing so loud, Robert Taylor is a VERY tall man, crafting fairs are a lot of fun (and I spent way too much), and (both sides of my) family doesn't get together NEARLY enough. We are going to have a helluva good time in Tuscany next year!!
Thanks to my fella I came home to coffee and salad in the fridge, and he may just help me bring all the rest of my crap up from the car. He's a good man, I think I'll keep him. ๐
