A Wonderful Weekend

So my weekend started off with a semi-sketchy meet up with a lovely guy to replace my windshield. I needed a new one cuz an 18-wheeler with an unsecured load of gravel DECIMATED my windshield. We are talking 20 pock marks 0.5-1 inchs (1-2 cms) across. Now, if you live in DFW and need a windshield replaced, this guy is AMAZING. We met at a McDonalds (funny enough, across the street from a QT I've met my trucker sister at) and bing, bang, boom, 20 mins and he's DONE. No BS, no hidden fees, no murder, all 100% legit. Lol. AND I got to watch, which is always fun. Guy is strong not using suction cups, I'll tell ya.
no windshield
all done and cleaning. It's sooooo pretty!!!

After this I went to pick up my man for a weekend of meeting my friends. First we had a bit of running around to do, then we relaxwd at my apt for a bit, then we headed out. We met up with a, j, and d at our favorite Mexican place. I think it went well, everyone seemed to enjoy the chatting, the food, and of course the margaritas! After that, a had to head home, so j&d and j&I went to a liquor store to grab some room drinks and went back to j&ds hotel room to continue chatting. Eventually everyone got tired and we parted ways.

The next day we met up at Holocron so that d could see the wonderfulness. We ended up watching the little mermaid and rehashing some of the shared trauma of Disney scenes when we were younger. Then we went for Korean food and unfortunately the owner wasn't there, but the food was still great. I got to introduce them to kimchi pancakes and kimbap. I also had some bibibap, while d got appetizers, my fella got a tofu dish, and j got the squid. It was all pretty tasty. After that we decided to see if they had halloween stuff out at the At Home store and... they DID!
Such fun! So many ideas for decor!

Then we decided to have dessert at Costco. We had strawberry and chocolate sundaes and churros. 😁 then j and d had to jet out, so my fella and I went home and ended up napping on the couch until I needed to drop him off at home. It was really a lovely weekend of him meeting my people and it went well, so I think this bodes well for the future. Which we have mentioned, quite a lot, really. Stay tuned. Hehe.

Anyway, professionally my boss's last day was last Friday (technically it's next Fri but she took this week off already, so you know). I'm bummed but not super bummed because I've decided we will probably work together again and in the meantime we will keep in touch. She's really an amazing human and I do hope we will work together again. In fact, this popped up in my FB memories:
This is from when she first hired me. Lol. Guess I did alright. In the meantime we'll see what happens at work. Things are being shaken up out at good ol GRMC. It's an interesting time, for sure.

As for me, I've got a busy July planned. Most of which means limited time with the fella, who is doing what he can to make sure we see each other at least a bit before the big trip home. He'd prefer I not go alone, but this was all planned before we got together, so hi ho hi ho its off to WY I go. It'll be nice to spend Dad's bday with him and see my mom, aunt, and cousin for Longmire days (from the TV show, you can Google it). Maybe even rub elbows with a famous person. Lol. OH, and see G in Casper. Have some brisket nachos from Wyo Philly wagon, have a drink or 2 at the hilltop, stop in at freedom and bug my friend there. Yeah, it'll be a good trip. Then my fella and I can plan a trip to WY together. Not sure when... bringing a Texan to WY in winter is just... cruel. Lol.

So that was my weekend. I hope yours was just as amazing, being surrounded by those you love and who love you too. Here's to one more busy month and then... GOBLIN AUGUST!!! Staying inside, with the A/C, movies, snacks, and minimal outside engagements (especially if there is no pool involved). 😁 much love to my readers ❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
