A week

It's really hard waiting to hear news from the ICU. The good news is that she is waking up, her breathing tube was removed, and she has been responding to commands. When amshe responded to the speech therapist she remembered family and friends, so that's good news, too. She has a long road of recovery ahead, but she's still here and that's not nothing. We saw her on Sat. She didn't say anything, but she was awake and wanting to get UP. Reminded me a bit of Dad when he was in the hospital. "I got places to BE!" I think she's going to be alright.

We had a gathering at the in-laws for the other niece, M, who just graduated from high school. She's planning a year off (smart woman) before college. She's going to study to be a forensic investigator.

At work I've been working with my boss having meetings with people to make sure we are going to be ready for when our joint commission window opens. June we are focusing on getting all of our documents in order so when they ask for something we can bring it to them. We have been doing rounds to get things fixed, and this is on top of everything else for the new EHR. Thursday night I was invited to drinks after work with people and I went. It was interesting to hang out outside of work. I haven't done that in FOREVER.

As it's June, it's the start of summer as far as I'm concerned, so I had a little Jaws marathon with Acey Face.
He was thrilled
And riveted! Lol... he didn't appreciate all the honking of the boats in Jaws 2. I've been wanting to find deep blue sea, too. I think I've been fully accepted by the kitty cat. I have a shameless love for horrible sea monster movies. Gods of the Deep is horrible, but has a good looking cthulu (who they wake up by taking a HUGE skin sample... sigh).

I've been working thru my TBR pile. Finished my re-read of the Cleric Quintet, moved on to the Glen Rose Moonshine Raid, some fascinating history of my work town, and now I'm on That Time I got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf. So far, very entertaining, somewhat steamy. After that I'll move on to The Wager: a tale of shipwreck, mutiny, and murder. I figure fantasy, reality, repeat is a good process. Until I run out of the reality books which will be right after The Wager. Lol. I'm thinking of reading Dune before watching either of the movies. Thoughts? Book first or movie first? I mean, it's kinda a moot point because I watched Dune 1 in WY, but I don't remember much of it (other than Jason Momoa was BEARDLESS, which should be illegal, IMO). I do want the other 2 books in the Mead Mishaps series (yes, that's what it's called). I did mention it's entertaining, yes? Hehe.

And so, life goes on. We continue to muddle thru. We have a short work week, as hubbs and i are taking a planned hookey day on thurs. We've been joking about getting Friday the 13th tattoos together, but I'm not sure that's going to be a thing. I wish you all well, be safe from the storms, and sending all the hugs and love from me! ❤️❤️
