Soooooo... snow. It's pretty, but I'm glad I don't have to shovel it. It snowed here today after work, and I'm glad I was wearing thermals, jeans, my sweater, my hoodie, and my leather jacket. I did have to take off my gloves to take pix of the snow for J, who is WARM AND COZY IN SUMMER IN AUSTRALIA!!! Not that I'm jealous or anything. Apparently the gov has sent out weather warnings about staying inside, using public trans, and keeping warm.
Me at work today, going from headset...The look of WTF?!
Makes for a pretty picture, though.
Some kids are having fun with their names - I mean, I tried to let Sally be teacher, but she told them all to go play. I told her she wouldn't keep her job long if she always told the kids that!
My other thing I did to try to make myself happy. I wanted some glitter. As Jess says - "What is life without glitter?" Funnily enough, I also got Mom's Christmas card that somehow got blue glitter all over my apartment. Gotta laugh.
The internet is full of pictures and descriptions that say things like "get yourself a man/woman/friend/etc who can do (fill in the blank). Just for fun, I thought I'd try it.
Get yourself a friend who - will watch Dragnet with you and make up rules for a drinking game... will send you cards when you are overseas just to say "hi."... will keep date nights even when they are in another hemisphere... will support you and understand when life gets in the way of communication... will send you fun things to watch and randomly check in when they know you've been down... shows they care about you in whatever ways they can due to circumstances... is willing to communicate in whatever ways works for both of you... never makes you wonder where you fit in their world... tells you that they love you. I'm incredibly blessed to have these kinds of friends, and just so you all know, I treasure you more than anything else in the world. For those who are wondering - yes, family is included in this. I get to be friends with my family - how cool is that?! I'm so happy to have my weekly phone dates set up, since otherwise it's too easy for things to get in the way. So on this extremely snowy evening, I hold you all in my heart and I know that you hold me in yours. MUAH! :* Tons of love and hugs to all of you.
